VICTORIA – The OIPC for British Columbia released its Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) template and related guidance to give private sector organizations that collect, use and disclose personal information the tools they need to make sure their planned initiatives comply with the law. The releases were made on Data Privacy Day, a global observance aimed at raising awareness about the importance of protecting personal information, and highlighting technology’s impact on people’s privacy.
