Jan 31, 2020 Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia launches privacy impact assessment template and guidance on Data Privacy Day 2020


VICTORIA – The OIPC for British Columbia released its Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) template and related guidance to give private sector organizations that collect, use and disclose personal information the tools they need to make sure their planned initiatives comply with the law.  The releases were made on Data Privacy Day, a global observance aimed at raising awareness about the importance of protecting personal information, and highlighting technology’s impact on people’s privacy.  Privacy impact assessment (PIA) Template – https://www.oipc.bc.ca/guidancedocuments/2381
