ICO draft Code of Practice on Direct Marketing


This is a statutory code of practice prepared under section 122 of the Data Protection Act 2018. It provides practical guidance for those conducting direct marketing or operating within the broader direct marketing ecosystem. It explains the law and provides good practice recommendations. Following the code along with other ICO guidance will help you to comply with the GDPR and PECR.  The draft Code of Practice on Direct Marketing has been published for consultation. The consultation is open until 4 March 2020.  Once adopted, the Code will have statutory force.
