The Federal Trade Commission Presents an Updated Strategic Plan
The FTC presented its updated Strategic Plan covering 2018 – 2022. The plan sets forth three strategic goals. These goals include protecting consumers from unfair and deceptive practices in the marketplace, maintaining competition in promoting a marketplace free from anticompetitive mergers, business practices, or public policy outcomes, and advancing its performance through excellence in managing resources, human capital, and information technology. The plan also includes an updated mission statement to reflect better the FTC’s active role in consumer protection and competition law enforcement, advocacy, and education efforts on behalf of American consumers and businesses. The FTC has also introduced several new measures that reflect the importance of support functions in maintaining its ability to serve the public.
